The leafy suburbs of Hale, Hale Barns and Bowden in the south of Trafford borough have been fashionable with wealthy celebrities and footballers for many years. Now other areas in the borough like Urmston and Stretford are becoming very desirable but still offer great value for money in terms of property. Trafford is one of a handful of boroughs that still has the 11+ and Grammar Schools. Altrincham Grammar School for Girls is frequently one of the top schools in the country with excellent examination results and rated outstanding by OFSTED. Transport – the borough is ideally situated for easy access to the following motorways M6, M60, M56 and M62. It is connected to Manchester city centre by the Metro link and Train routes. Plus Manchester Airport is just a short drive away.

Entertainment- The Imperial War Museum, The Lowry and Media city are at Salford Quays and Manchester city, with its many theatres, cinemas and music venues, is within easy reach.

Shops – The Trafford centre has over 200 stores including Selfridges and John Lewis plus a variety of food outlets and a multiplex cinema. Altrincham also has Rackham’s.

Recreation and leisure – The Chill Factore, iFly Indoor Skydiving and Altrincham Ice Rink offer great facilities for the more adventurous and there are many parks and open woodland across the borough, including Dunham Massey for family walks and picnics.

Bars and Restaurants – there is an up and coming bar and café scene in Urmston, the redeveloped Altrincham market offers a lively venue for eating and drinking and there are some top class restaurants in Hale.

Sport – Trafford is home to Manchester United, Lancashire County Cricket and Sale Sharks
